Has someone a hint for me how to get UltraMixer working under Ubuntu 8.10 intrepid ???
Under Ubuntu 8.04 I had no problem at all.
Now Ultramixer doesn’t take the sound setting “ALSA” everytime after restart it comes back with “OSS”
And OSS doesn’t work.
I’ve UltraMixer 2.3.6
I hope someone has the solution.
Dear jacquesschrier,
did you try to start up with Autodetect?

Dear Sl@jaR,
I did start-up with auto detect, but then it goes automatically to OSS (and this doesn’t work)
Please help me with this, I’m stuck.

It worked for me after I
-stopped the pulseaudio server (killall pulseaudio)
-defined my sound devices in a .asoundrc file in my home directory
I even have a behringer BCD working for the most part (haven’t used the audio part of it yet though)!
Dear TRiSS,
can you email me your .asoundrc file, so I can use this as an example???
mailto:jacques@morani.nl
Thanks,

My .asoundrc is quite default, but I’ll post it here nonetheless. It’s for an m-audio fasttrack pro, which is one hardware device with two subdevices.
[code:960f9]pcm.monitor {
type hw
card 1
device 0
}
ctl.monitor {

}
ctl.main {

pcm.main {

}

that’s normal, it doesn’t exist by default…
just save a file named .asoundrc under your home folder (eg /home/jacques/.asoundrc).
