UltraMixer-2.0.3beta not running

Hi,

I’m eager to try UltraMixer out but I’m getting an error when I run it. Can you help?

I’m using

[code:02531][me@localhost ~ ]$ java --version
java version “1.4.2”
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.0.0 20050519 (Red Hat 4.0.0-8)[/code:02531]
so I downloaded UltraMixer-2.0.3beta-linux-withjava.jar.

When I try to run it all I get is

[code:02531][me@localhost ~ ]$ java -jar UltraMixer-2.0.3beta-linux-withjava.jar
UIDefaults.getUIError: failed to locate UI class:ButtonUI
UIDefaults.getUIError: failed to locate UI class:ScrollBarUI
UIDefaults.getUIError: failed to locate UI class:ScrollBarUI
UIDefaults.getUIError: failed to locate UI class:ScrollPaneUI
UIDefaults.getUIError: failed to locate UI class:ButtonUI

(.:13447): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_raise: assertion `window != NULL’ failed[/code:02531]
and a empty window titled “Language selection” opens. All I can do is close it…

I’ll try to install jre1.5 expecting it to solve this but the java.sun.com is reporting an error… not my day! :frowning:

Thanks for any help,
Bruno

Forgot to tell you my system. Sorry…

I’m running Fedora Core 4 (Linux 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4)

Hi Bruno,

Unfortunately, we don’t officially support GIJ ( libgcj ) which means it is not an Sun jre and we require a jre 1.5.x or higher. If you are on Linux try to use the bundled linux-version with jre.

Hi again!

Sl@jaR, thanks for your answer.

I’ve got it working, now. You’ve done an excellent job. It still crashes a lot though…

It’s a bit tricky to install on Fedora Core 4. To replace the FC4 java packages with Sun’s follow these instructions: mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-f … .html#java

Just another thing. Think on keeping a free Linux version. It would be great!

Thanks,
Bruno
